Hastelloy C-22 is highly resistant to a wide variety of chemical environments, including strong oxidizers like ferric chloride, cupric chloride, chlorine, hot contaminated solutions (both organic and inorganic), formic acid, acetic acid, acetic anhydride, seawater, and brine. Additionally, the alloy resists grain boundary precipitation in the weld heat-affected zone, allowing it to be used in as-welded condition for many chemical processing applications.
